Funny how weird ideas come at four in the morning.The book I'm holding is from Peter Gedei (you can order it, as well as view many beautiful photos, at his blog). The helmet on my head and the headlamp are both mine - used in climbing.I actually started out with a completely different idea. I was going to go to sleep, but some ideas just won't leave you alone. But after trying one or two things, this was my favorite. In case you were wondering, yes, I have a thing for books. Perhaps I'll do more of these. Also, you would not believe how hard it is to find a decently neutral background - in the end, I had to take a painting of one of our walls.
This is the view from tall antenna-building in Vienna which also has a round restaurant on the top that moves around its own axis. The tower is called Donauturn, because it's located near the Danube River and it's around 160m high. From the top the view is quite nice and the restaurant turns around in about one hour.
Last year, a cloudy snowy day at Krvavec. Grega was obviously very angry :) If possible, he chooses the hard way to go down the slope. It was very cold and there has been so much snow, that we couldn't make it to the chair lifts with his mighty car, as we usually do. So we took a few descents and of course, a few photos . The problem was heavy snowing and me and my camera were soaked wet. I have left my flash at home, so I had to push the darks a little higher, where the noise comes from.

One pigeon for each of you folks :) This is the church of the Sacred Hearth of Jesus in Prague you see in background, made by our greatest architect Jože Plečnik. It's blurry, because I was panning the birds. They really like this building, because at this place there are so many, that you can't find anywhere else in Prague, also sitting on the walls of this monumental church. The building is very heavy and light because of the clock tower at the same time. One of the most interesting looking post-modern churches for sure in my opinion. The facade is emulating coat of a priest and it doesn't really feel like it was finished almost 80 years ago.
The photo is converted to black and white, but I really didn't have to do it, because it was colorless already :)
Blaž during our hike to Triglav late this summer, looking for all the world like a Jedi Knight. Too bad that Star Wars quotes are way too obvious and I can't really use them ;)ps. This is completelly unrelated, but I think it's so awesome it deserves to be mentioned. More than half a year ago (soon after we started the blog, in fact), I posted a photo of a Chevy Nova SS (an american muscle car). Now, Mike, the guy who sold this very car to someone from Slovenia, actually came across my post. It's a small world, and getting smaller all the time :)
I had already started writing about analog film and how it has much better colour rendition than digital sensors. But then I decided that I really don't care and that you probably don't either. Why? Because photography isn't about colour rendition. Anyhow, this was taken in the south of France, specifically at the Verdon canyon (like this photo I posted recently). The lake above is artificial and is the result of a dam at the southern edge. The village next to the lake, Les Salles-sur-Verdon, is relatively new - the old village of Sainte-Croix-de-Verdon being completely underwater (isn't knowledge fun?). Anyhow, the best known (and, of course, most invaded by tourists) village in the area is Moustiers-Sainte-Marie, which is quite lovely (if you're in the region and playing tourist, by all means, invade away). The only problem with the tourism is that it drives prices up - everything is expensive (other than the cheap camps). Also, France tends to be filled with the French, who spend most of their time being incredibly french. Trust me, that makes a hell of a lot more sense than it might seem at first glance.
This is what I wanted for Christmas, but all I got are red boxers with Santa on it. The picture of this beautiful Alfa Romeo 8c Competizione was taken last year at Bologna Motorshow. It is a true beauty, but sadly limited to 500 pieces. It is powered by Maserati V8 and produces 450 horsepower. Nice, but some tests say that sadly is not driven that good... a beauty though.
