So close

Sometimes we forget how close to the alps our little capital Ljubljana stands. And I think most of people can't really imagine that. When I get some really clear weather and when SCT workers get their asses of the castle, I will be waiting in this positin for the best light. And then I am going to have a coffee up there.

  1. I love this shot. But yes, as far as I know, it will be a while before they finish restoring the castle :P

  2. Lovely? Location = bridge over the highway on the south entrance to the city?

  3. Yup, that is the location. We'll have to go back when they finish and repeat this shot on film :)

  4. I love the view from that point. A wider angle covering Ljubljana + castle + mountains also works well.

  5. I figure you mean wider than this - with something really wide (28 mm and on) I imagine the mountains become tiny.

I rarely go by this point since I live in the north of Ljubljana - my favourite viewpoint is probably on the small tower above the village Rašica.

  6. Wider than this 250 mm tele, of course. 28 mm picture taken from this point would be useless.

  7. I also got some wider images of this place, but I desided to post this one, because the castle looks like an island in the middle of nowhere with the mountains behind. But yes, also the trnovo under looks very cool with it. I think about 150 mm tele, more than that also shows the bridge, whitch kills the beauty. At least how I can picture it. When I first saw this picture I did't have camera with me, but I said that when I will have some time and the weather will be nice, I will do it. The problem is that this two things never come together perfectly:)
